End of Season Report
There were eight events in the League this year with two discards allowed and the points were awarded from fifty for a winner reducing by one for the other places.
This League is open to all Footy enthusiasts both near and far, the longest distant to travel was from David Wilkinson from Cotswold Club, and well done to him for attending four races.
Over the series there have been a total of seventeen skippers attending and ranging from ten entries in the August event to an average of six in the other events.

The European Footy Champion Phil Tyler visited us in August with his Slim design using a Unarig Sail made to fit the Experimental Sail Template and carried off a win with Shepherd and Jackson hanging on to his tail. Now for the rest of the year Peter Shepherd has won five of the eight events and Peter Jackson coming second to him in those events. So well done to Peter Shepherd he has been imperious this year, both in sailing skill and the use of tactics whilst sailing.

Generally the standard of sailing has been good, with many skippers showing improvement in both ability, their understanding of the rules and how to use them to gain a tactical advantage. There have been few problems and the self-assessment of penalties and the prompt actioning by the skippers, has allowed the events to been run in the friendly but competitive atmosphere we strive for.

Thank you to all those who took part and we look forward to the next Midland Footy League in 2014 the dates and details of which will be posted on the website shortly.
