Mad March Hare

The day dawned with an overcast sky and light winds from the south West across the vast expanse of water at Cotswold Sailing Club. The assistance of the members of the Sailing Club in setting the course and running the event was very much appreciated by the assembled Footy Skippers. John Burgoine's ICE was sporting a new set of "Justin" sails with a stiffer 4mm carbon mast. He put these to good use building up an unassailable lead by the time lunch came. dropping only one point to David Wilkinson in race 5, the wind strengthened throughout the day which sent all the skippers scurrying to their sail bags on numerous occasions with almost everyone using all the sails they had.
As the wind strengthened the two Fat Boys and the Ibex started to come into their own recording a series of wins towards the end.
A most pleasant days racing was rounded off by handing the Mad March hare trophy over to John Burgoine for his safe custody.
