A perfect wind direction at Sandwell MBC enabled us to set the best of courses for ACT TWO of the Extreme Footy Series, with upwind and downwind gates and a wind that occasionally shifted to change the bias it proved a real challenge to take the best course, and once we had dispatched Brian Morris to count us through the upwind gate three times (who needs Suduko puzzles to keep the brain active), everything else fell into place. We were pleased to welcome back Robin Webb, along with Graham Tite and Trevor Thomas, it was very much like old times at Wicksteed Park, except we are all loads better at sailing these brilliant little yachts now.
David had it all sewn up by the time the double point race came around, with the rest of the fleet it was so close that only five points seperated the 2nd placed man Trevor Thomas, sailing his nov"ICE" from Graham Tite sailing swing rigs for the first time ever on an ICE borrowed from John Burgoine. It was definately the ICE designs day with Peter Jackson being the best placed Slim derivative, loadest cheer of the day was reserved for the long serving and ever popular Sid Sims who won race fifteen. Brian Morris did the honours with the scorecard and acting as Race Officer, he even found time to be the official photographer, so many thanks go to him.
The closeness of the events has thrown up a surprise skipper at the top of the leader board, next competition is at Hollowell Sailing Club 30th April.
