We build a Supabug out of Correx in 20 minutes!
The video opposite shows how to build a Supabug out of Correx, ok so we cheated a bit and it actually took us 45 minutes to get a completed boat!
We don't expect everyone to achieve this but hopefully this will inspire others to have a go at building their own Footy and the video does show the basic technique for putting a Supabug together. Incidentally the Supabug is Roger Stollerys forerunner to the ICE and was his design template for that particular hull. |

"After the enjoyable Footy sail on the big waves of the Solent at the Hill Head Sailing Club at the New Year, I was keen to do it again and get Alfie Hart, the producer of the marvelous 2011 IOM Worlds films to record it. Some might think us mad, as the location off Pendine Sands in winds gusting over 20mph created 2-3 foot high waves. However, I was confident that it would demonstrate the ability of the SUPABUG Footy to sail well in survival conditions. Huge thanks go to Alfie for capturing a 'Footy in Waves'.
