Cheddar Steam Club extends a very warm welcome to you for the 2019 MYA National Footy & Junior Footy Championships.
Come and enjoy racing your Footy at Cheddar and help us to create some fun in a friendly, but competitive atmosphere.

Kevin Newman will be the RO and racing will be conducted using the RRS 2017-2020 modified by the 2017 MYA Standard Sailing Instructions. The current 2009 Footy Class Rules will apply. We would ask you to limit the size of your biggest rigs to comply with the ‘Experimental Footy rig Template‘. The relevant notices are as follows:

REGISTRATION and measurement check 08.40 to 09.30 hours.
BRIEFING – this will start at approximately 09.40 hours.
RACING TIMES – the first race will start soon after the briefing at approximately 10.00 hours - no race will start after 15.30 hours and any race in progress at 16.00 hours will be abandoned.

JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP – for competitors under the age of 18, will be run concurrently with the MYA National Championship and the beautiful Colts Foot Trophy will be awarded based upon the results up until lunchtime, which will be taken at approximately 12.30, however please be aware this time may need to be adjusted to take into consideration the Laser meeting taking place at the same time.
Junior competitors are invited to keep sailing after lunch and into the afternoon if they so wish as their scores will count towards the MYA National Championship.

Please make sure that your correct sail numbers are clearly displayed on your mainsails: just the last two digits of your boat’s registration number. When you bring your boat for registration, please make sure that it will fit in the ‘Footy measurement box’, as required by class rules.

As well as the Junior Colts Foot Trophy and the Stella Lost Rock Cup there will be prizes for the winners, runners up and third place and all junior competitors, the Footy Champions League and new NovICE trophy will also be awarded at the conclusion of this event.

The ENTRY FEE will be £15.00 for senior competitors and £5.00 for Juniors, to be paid on the day. All entrants who confirm their intention to enter using the Entry Form on the Sail Footy UK website. Please note the entry fee’s include the MYA’s National Race Levy.
