South Midlands Footy League - April 2012 Results
At Wicksteed Park

Seven Skippers pitched up on Saturday April 14th. We had a new member Dave Lissaman attending for the first time, with his own design of boat, however with our help he is undergoing a meteoric learning curve.
The course was a simple upwind downwind leg from a midway starting position, upwind first then downwind then upwind and then a downwind dash to the finish.
We were easily able to get sixteen races in during the day, using the "Gary Sanderson" race management system. Throughout the races we were blessed with a medium to strong wind, which was fairly constant with only the occasional lulls and gusts.
There was a much improved standard of helmsman ship showed by all skippers and the new man Dave also showed that he had experience, probably from sailing full size dinghy’s.
Dave and Paul Strong were locked together in a close fight in all races until Paul retired early.
At the top of the leader board Graham Tite and Peter Jackson had a good series of races with Peter able to sail his ICE with a ‘B’ swing rig all day whereas Graham was slowed in the gusts with his Unarig of the same area and sometimes had to go down a sail size.
